Mindfulness-Based Social-Emotional Learning

Mindfulness and Counseling

Seeds of Awareness empowers school communities with mindfulness and emotional support programs. Mindfulness is shown through a multitude of studies to decrease stress and anxiety, improve truancy rates, increase attention capacities, enhance executive functioning, and improve emotional regulation in children and youth.

Seeds provides comprehensive mindfulness instruction to teachers, students and parents, by utilizing the innovative curriculum of Seeds training director Daniel Rechtshaffen, author of The Way of Mindful Education and creator of, an online training module for teachers. Seeds serves schools K to 12.

“The counselors, who have come to our K to 8 school from the Seeds of Awareness organization, have truly exceeded expectations. They are professional, knowledgeable, and our students at all age levels are drawn to them. Every counselor we have worked with has made easy connections with students and staff. We consider them an integral part of our program.”Laura Shain, Superintendent at Lagunitas School District
