Samantha earned a Masters Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and is registered with the BBS as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. Samantha identifies as a Gestalt Therapist, who is client-centered and views healing through a holistic lens which recognizes the interrelationships of the mind, body, heart and spirit. Samantha believes that through building self-support and increasing our holistic awareness, choice emerges and we’re able to step more fully into ourselves.
Samantha currently works at a High School in Palo Alto where she provides individual therapy sessions, supporting students struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. This year Samantha launched an Expressive Art Therapy group where she utilizes visual arts, body/movement exercises, writing and drama therapy techniques to help teens strengthen self-esteem and deepen internal and external awareness. Prior to Samantha’s work a the high school level, she worked in the East Bay Area as an Elementary School Counselor, where she offered crisis support, individual therapy and facilitated group therapy sessions to address peer issues and behavioral concerns. Samantha has also worked with adults and families at Church Street Integral Counseling Center in San Francisco, where she received intensive Gestalt Therapy Training for over one year and offered individual therapy.
Samantha is a certified as an integrative yoga therapy instructor and practices yoga daily. Samantha has a great love of the outdoors and enjoys hiking, taking nature walks, swimming, camping, snowboarding, stargazing and reading books in the parks of San Francisco on sunny days.
