My name is Laura Lucia Vidal.
I’m a fourth year clinical psychology doctoral student at Alliant University. As a trainee, I’ve worked therapeutically with adults and youth from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have experience in the application of trauma-informed therapy, somatic interventions and strength-based approaches. I’m currently doing research on self-compassion as a treatment for perfectionism, and have developed an understanding of evidenced-based practices for issues associated with perfectionism.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, where my role is to be fully present as I provide a safe space for clients. I offer tools and suggestions tailored to my clients’ needs, in order to ultimately facilitate their discovery towards what works best for them.
