Fiddleheads Summer Camp: Covid-19 Update

Dear FiddleFriends,

We are thinking of all of you during this time and hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. While we are committed to offering our in-person Fiddleheads camps and taking youth on healing outdoors adventures this summer, we remain informed and flexible to accommodate any necessary changes. In this time of uncertainty, we continue to do our part – train counselors, enroll camp participants and conduct intakes, establish safety measures and update our curriculum and toolkits. The health and well-being of Fiddleheads children and families, as well as our counselors and staff, continues to be our number one priority.

We are designing protocols to maintain safety, which will include strategies for physical distancing, masks, health screenings and frequent and thorough washing and sanitizing. We are also in communication with regional parks and will follow the strictest guidance and recommendations of state, county and local public health officials. At the present moment, the parks where we operate are currently closed to camps and groups and will remain closed until further directive from public health officials. Meanwhile, the parks are also developing safety guidelines for when they open. While we will adhere to parks’ directions, we will implement necessary additional protocols to ensure that our campers are adequately cared for given their unique needs.

When there is so much unknown around us, our mindfulness practices guide us to slow down and ground ourselves in what is known. We know that our health – as individuals and as a community – is paramount to us. We also know that Nature is a friend we could all use right now and we cannot wait to reunite your children with their new and old friends.

To that end, we invite you to sign up to secure your child’s spot for when we open and to support us in preparation of the camp. We have changed our refund policy and will provide full refund in the event that we cannot offer camp this summer or your child cannot participate in the available camp sessions.

We appreciate your continued patience, understanding and support of our program and assure you that we’ll be ready to offer camps as soon as is reasonably safe. Meanwhile, we will monitor further guidelines and information from our public health officials and regional parks and keep you updated. Please remember to sign up today to secure your child’s spot to help us with preparations for the camp.

In community,

Fiddleheads Team
